Chandy and camping

Chandy's eye is much better. It was Dr. M. and he pretty much told me nothing. His eye happened to be looking better when he was there, but as soon as he left it started to droop again.

The last two days it has looked great though. One of the vets on my horse ohio group said that entropian is not uncommon in foals and that most times it self-corrects after the foal starts drinking more and becomes more hydrated. Looks like that is what happened. :)

I have made some great progress with him in the last two days. This morning he let me come right up to him and give him some love. I made a point of walking away before he had a chance to and he followed me! He is now looking me in the eye too. When I sprayed Amy he stood between us and let me rub him without a problem.

Drove down to Mohican Wilderness yesterday. The campsite is nice, but there was a lot of confusion as to who was going to go where. The campers were parked in the shade, which made no sense to the tent campers. Mark pretty much made them move. We went on a 5 mile canoe trip. It was tiring. One of the twins flung a huge rock that hit Finn in the head and just missed hitting me. I felt the wind as it flew by. I was so pissed. After the trip I got Mark and the kids settled and then drove home. It was a pretty drive, but it started storming and flooding so that made it difficult. Almost got hit by this yahoo in Ashland. I have no idea how he managed to miss me, but he did.

Now I am at class. Last one. Then home, to the bank, Walmart and finally heading back down. I hope the kids and Mark did okay last night. I hope they didn't get poured on or if they did that the tent held. It is supposed to storm for the next three days off and on. They are calling for some severe ones. I hope it misses the pocket where we are staying. They are going to go horseback riding today. Going to miss it. :(

Chandler

Chandy's eye still looks yucky so I am having the vet come out today to look at it. I also want him to hazzard a guess as to whether he is a mule or a horse. I hope its not Dr. M.

Took Edward and Jacob to Lee's. They were very anxious, but did okay. Lee's house is gorgeous. Her Hosta Walk is going to be a garden shown during the National Convention next year.

Tired and ready for this week to be over.

Thursday

Just sitting in class bored out of my mind. Everything is done and I have nothing to do. I did my chores list for Tracy. I wrote my camping list. Two more hours. It is hotter than stella. I'm about to pass out.

Chandler's eye was a bit weepy this morning. Hopefully it will clear up after the next two days.

Rode Ruby last night and I did much better. More relaxed. Starting to get the side to side thing.

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all I have to do these next two weeks. Class, camping, Tali's bridging ceremony, party at Cathy's, party at Groot's, camping with Finn, Tali to Grandma EE's, Rob coming Friday, goats to Lee's, chiropractor appt., TDES, Mark leaving. I can't wait until July is here. Just Melissa's wedding and something else that I can't remember right now.

Chandler

Well, his name is Chandler. Chandy for short. Last night I brought him into the barn with a hurting right eye. I think he got some ashes in it when Mark was burning the wood. I used the NFZ Puffer and it looked a bit better this morning. Hope he is okay.

I am taking the HQT Technology class this week. It is a lot, but I have gotten a ton of good information to use next year. 4th grade. :) No more pre-teen attitudes. I am actually looking forward to next year. Plus I will be down in 104. In the corner of negativity though. :(

Getting ready to go camping on Sunday. Taking Edward and Jacob to Lee's tomorrow.

Amy's new foal

Surprise, surprise! I was sitting on the back deck relaxing and enjoying my first afternoon of vacation. I noticed that Amy was lying in the back pasture, which was unusual. I kept an eye on her and noticed that she was heaving like she was having contractions or colicking. I ran out there and she wasn't colicking! She was having a baby! A beautiful, chocolate-colored colt with white spotting on his rump and legs. Sherri has offered to adopt him, but she wants to call him Amos, Chandler or Bryce. Holy crap! Those are horrible.

I have been trying to handle him every morning and evening. The first day he was very accepting of me and let me rub him all over. He has become a bit more skittish in the last two days. I should have done a better job of imprinting him, had I known!

Last night I put both he and Amy into the larger pasture with the donkeys and the goats. The donkeys stalked Moose like the Borg. It was pretty funny. I could watch him for hours. He runs all over the place bucking and playing.
